Katy Perry, father knows best!
Over Labor Day Weekend, the 30-year-old singer shared on her Instagram page a video of herself at the 2015 Burning Man arts and music festival, attempting to ride a Segway in Nevada's dusty Black Rock Desert. Emphasis on the word "attempting."
Earlier Monday, Labor Day, she posted a clip of her dad, Keith Hudson, 68, teaching her how it's done.
"Hey Bird, you need a lesson 'cause this is the way you do it," he said, spinning around on a Segway on a driveway in a suburb.
"Thanks Dad," she wrote.
Perry also posted a video of fireworks at the Burning Man festival. The annual weeklong event, which sees the burning of an effigy of the "man," ends on Monday. Susan Sarandon, 68, also attended.
Perry, who was born Katheryn Hudson, is the middle child of Keith and Mary Hudson, who are both pastors in California. The singer also has a big sister, Angela, and younger brother, David.
Perry has occasionally brought her parents with her to major events. Last year, they accompanied her at the White House, where she sang before President Barack Obama and guests at a dinner celebration commemorating the 46th anniversary of the Special Olympics.
"At one point, President Obama turned to me and said, 'We just love your daughter,'" Keith wrote on his family blog. "To which I replied, 'That's because there is so much light in her.'"
