After weeks of back-and-forth, the Today co-anchor and host of the Ellen DeGeneres Show have seriously escalated their battle. It all began when the Finding Nemo actress superimposed Fifty Shades of Grey-inspired graphic images over Lauer's body, but he then got back at her by filling her car with 20,000 pingpong balls.
Not letting him get away with his act of war, DeGeneres invited her viewers to stand in the Today show's plaza to help Lauer find his "tickle spots." Even though the pranks are supposed to be only between the two of them, that didn't stop Hoda Kotb and Kathie Lee Gifford from joining in on the fun! They helped attendees find Lauer's weak points.
But now, Lauer has struck back in way that will blow every other prank out of the water. He had three larger-than-life billboards installed around the city of Los Angeles (at Lankershim and Riverside, Cahuenga and Riverside and at 9046 Sunset Blvd outside of nightclub 1 Oak).

The ads promote DeGeneres' new (but fake) plumbing services! The talk show host is seen hunched over a toilet showing a little more skin above her waistline than we're normally used to seeing.
The morning show host didn't stop at a giant billboard, though. Urging potential customers to dial 1-844-Ellen-4-U, Lauer went the extra mile by leaving a special recording for those who call the number. Spoiler Alert: Part of the message is Lauer telling DeGeneres she has a nice butt crack LOL!
It wasn't long before the Finding Dory star spotted one of the billboards, tweeting a selfie with the ad in the background. "Look what I saw on my way to work today. Good one, @MLauer. #MattsRevenge," she posted with the pic.
DeGeneres ended up calling the number herself in front of her studio audience and thanked Lauer for his message before adding, "I'm going to get him to get him back. I don't know what I'm going to do."
After this latest installment of their prank war, who knows what they could possibly come up with next, but we're looking forward to seeing it!
