Jill Duggar is one lucky lady! Having grown up in a household full of siblings and two caring parents, she has had some good role models in teaching her how to raise a child. Fortunately, she also has great partner to help out, too!

Jill told People that since the birth of her son, Israel David, husband Derick Dillard is "doing amazing at being a dad." Derick changed the baby's diaper two hours after he was born, and Jill also shared that he is already a "pro" at burping him.

"I have a really steep learning curve," Derick said, "but I think I'm catching on fast!" Like any new parent, he admitted that he could use a few winks. "I'm a little bit exhausted," he dished.

The couple welcomed their son late Monday after being more than 11 days past his initial due date! But Jill avoided getting discouraged about her baby's late birth by giving herself not one, but two due dates from the very beginning.

"I have told myself, 'First-time moms often go a week and a half over, so don't get discouraged,'" Jill, who set a personal due date of Apr. 5, 12 days after their child's expected arrival, shared with People. "When everyone else is asking you, 'When are you going to have that baby?' The baby will come when the baby comes."

She added that she was "planning on the baby coming late, no big deal—if you have it in your head that way, you won't get discouraged."

But now that they have their healthy and happy baby boy in their arms, they have already started documenting his every move! They've posted a pic on Instagram and even recorded a video introducing him to their fans.

In the video, however, Jill revealed that not everything went according to plan. She initially wanted to have a home birth, but complications meant she had to deliver Israel in the hospital.

"Not everything went as expected," she said, "so we were reminded of the verse that the Bible talks about when 'Man plans his way but the Lord directs his steps.' We were encouraged by that. He's just a handsome little fella and we'd like everybody to stay tuned to TLC. May 5th they're going to be showing the birth episode as well as things surrounding that."
