Happy National Coming Out Day!

Twenty-five years after its historic launch, the special day continues to celebrate the brave men and women who have spoken out about their sexuality. Despite progress for equal rights in several states across the country, the LGBT community wants to stress that "coming out still matters."

Just this summer, a few famous faces revealed their sexuality to the world.

Prison Break star Wentworth Miller announced he was gay after he was asked to attend a film festival in Russia. Because of the country's opposition to the gay community, the actor politely declined the invitation. WWE star Darren Young also surprised sports fans when he told a member of the paparazzi he was gay

They join dozens of gay and lesbian stars who continue to entertain us with their humor, talents and other special qualities.

We count on Ellen DeGeneres to get us laughing and dancing every day with her top-rated talk show.  We trust Anderson Cooper to deliver the most important news of the day on CNN. And what would we do without Good Morning America's Sam Champion alerting us of the weather in our hometown?

In honor of National Coming Out Day, we're recognizing the celebs who've come out as gay.
