Finally! A Sheen story that doesn't involve Charlie.

The recent headline-making actor's dad, Martin Sheen, has signed on to play Peter Parker's Uncle Ben in the upcoming Spider-Man reboot starring Social Network dude Andrew Garfield as the web-slinger, Columbia Pictures confirms to E! News.

But the former West Wing prez might not be the only acting vet to be a part of the Marc Webb-helmed superhero flick. The studio also tells us that Sally Field is currently in talks to take on the role of…

Aunt May!

The casting news comes on the heels of recent announcements that Emma Stone will star as love interest Gwen Stacy while Rhys Ifans will portray the not-yet-revealed villain.

Cameras are scheduled to begin rolling in December.

Meanwhile, the long-awaited Broadway musical Spider-Man: Turn Off The Dark has suffered yet another setback. The U2-scored show's opening night was scheduled for Dec. 21, but that's now been pushed to Jan. 11 in order for the producers to fine tune the production a wee bit more. As for previews, those have also shifted slightly, from Nov. 14 to Nov. 28.
