But that doesn't mean the duo don't have their preferences.
E! News caught up with both the Democratic presidential candidate and her daughter this summer to get the winners of their POPular Vote—that is, what they do to unwind, their pop culture favorites, their celeb squads (Hillary's is most definitely on the #goals side) and more. And let's just say, their results are very much like mother, like daughter:

Favorite TV Show
Hillary: "Well, Madam Secretary of course. And anything by Shonda Rhimes. I also get a kick out of watching HGTV."
Chelsea: "The Voice."
Which Movie Got Politics Right?
Hillary: "Mr. Smith Goes to Washington. Look no further than real-life heroes like John Lewis and his sit-in on the House floor to demand action against gun violence to see the spirit of Frank Capra is alive and well in our nation's capital."
Chelsea: "Oooh, that's a tough one...The American President I thought did a nice job."
What Books Are on Your Nightstand?
Hillary: Our Kids by Bob Putnam. He tells a compelling story of going back to the town he grew up in outside Cleveland and seeing how it's changed—how inequality is affecting our kids, and how so much of their success can be preordained at a young age. That book says a lot about the problems we're facing in America."
Chelsea: "The new Gabriel Allan book [by Daniel Silva] is sitting there, but I haven't read it yet. It's there!"
What Do You Sing in the Shower?
Hillary: "I'm always in a hurry these days, and even I can't tolerate much of my singing!
Chelsea: "At the moment I sing 'Baby Beluga' because that's my daughter's favorite song to listen to and it is on loop in my head, even when it's not on loop in our house." [She even sang a bar for us], "Baby Beluga in the deep blue sea, swims so wide and you swim so free...Think that's enough, so we're gonna stop now..."
Name Your First Big Celebrity Crush:
Hillary: "Fabian! (Look him up!) I was president of the local fan club—with a total of three members."
Chelsea: "Oh gosh, Christian Slater probably."
Which Celebrities Would Be in Your Squad?
Hillary: "I've been lucky enough to hang out with some pretty cool celebrities on the campaign trail, like Katy Perry, America Ferrera, Demi Lovato and Tony Goldwynso they'd definitely be in my squad!"
Chelsea: "Can I just pick—this is gonna sound so absurd—but can I just say that I really share my mom's girl crush on Katy Perry? I think that she is amazing—she would man my squad. Woman my squad!"
Hillary: "Anything chocolate. On the road, my go-to is chocolate-covered almonds."
Hillary: "Yoga. Though I also love going on long walks with Bill and our dogs."

Favorite Social Media:
Hillary: "Does FaceTime count? I love calling up Chelsea to see Charlotte and Aidan. And I think Humans of New York on Facebook is a really powerful and beautiful use of social media."
Favorite Vacation Spot:
Hillary: "Anywhere with my grandkids."
Chelsea: "Anywhere with my family."

Who Are You Voting For?
Hillary: "Well, this is awkward."
Chelsea: "My mom."
