CYVR/AKM-GSIHe may be seducing women in his Red Room of Pain on the silver screen, but in real life, Jamie Dornan is a regular guy adjusting to becoming a dad times two.
In March, the Fifty Shades Darker star and his wife of three years, Amelia Warner, welcomed their second daughter. The couple also shares 2-year-old Dulcie. While sitting down with Kelly Ripa and Nick Lachey on Live! With Kelly on Friday, the typically private actor opened up about how he and Amelia have adapted to their new family of four.
"We've got two little girls now, so it's pretty insane," he said. "One of my best friends said that one is a pet, two is a zoo."
Not to fret, Dornan said he doesn't totally buy into that mantra, although he does admit juggling two children at once has certainly been a change. "It's been a big adjustment and it's definitely harder and you get less time to yourself, but human beings are very good at adaptation," he continued. "You have to just go with it and accept less sleep and accept less time in your hands and accept less reading of books and washing and all the usual things you do in a day."
While it's all a small price to pay for having a family, Dornan isn't sure they'll try for a baby boy.
"I always thought I'd want the boy because...I think as a guy you just think, 'I'll have a little mini version of myself' or something in a sort of narcissistical way, but then once you've had girls I can't imagine having [another one]."
If he's ever interested in going for baby number three, Ripa has some advice for the star that she borrowed from former co-host Regis Philbin.
"He said, 'Whoever was the sexual aggressor during the act, that's what you get," she joked.
"It doesn't say much for me," Jamie quipped back. Perhaps he should take a note or two from his character Christian Grey's playbook.
