J.K. Rowling just lifted the curtain on one of Fantastic Beasts and Where to Find Them's biggest reveals yet.

Well, it was more of a sneak peek than a major bombshell, but when it comes to the highly anticipated Harry Potter series spinoff, even the slightest glimpse of what's to come from the upcoming movie sends fans into a frenzy.

Last night at the 2016 MTV Movie Awards, Eddie Redmayne took center stage to debut the latest trailer, which disclosed a connection between the film's titular character Newt Scamander (played by Redmayne) and Albus Dumbledore.

"You're an interesting man, Mr. Scamander," whispers the narrator. "Just like your suitcase, there's much more to you than meets the eye. Kicked out of Hogwarts for endangering human life with a beast, yet one of your teachers argued strongly against your expulsion."

We then see Newt leaving England and boarding a steam ship, as the narrator asks "Now what makes Albus Dumbledore so fond of you, Mr. Scamander?"

Rowling then took to Twitter Monday morning to answer a few questions about the pair's past relationship, admitting, "Albus Dumbledore is fond of Newt Scamander for the same reasons that I am fond of Newt Scamander. You're welcome."

Oh, J.K. Always such a tease when it comes to keeping secrets.

And when one Potterhead brought up why Dumbledore couldn't do more to keep Newt in Hogwarts' hallowed halls, she replied, "Dumbledore was a young teacher at the time Newt was expelled. He wasn't able to revoke expulsions."

So can we expect an appearance from the former headmaster of the famed wizarding school in Fantastic Beasts? Not so fast. Producer David Heyman told Entertainment Weekly the first film wouldn't feature any familiar faces—but the sequels very well could!
