As the tagline of her Las Vegas residency show promises, Britney Spears' Britney: Piece of Me is remixed, reimagined, but still iconic.
The pop superstar promised new costumes when she exclusively spilled the beans to E! News that she was extending her Las Vegas residency, and she has delivered.
This fierce military-inspired piece, which features a matching cape that Brit Brit rocks to open the show, is just one example of the new over-the-top costumes designer Nicolas Jebran created with Spears in mind.
Jebran told People magazine that "anything Britney wears looks amazing, so naturally it was easy to design with her inspirations and visions in mind. Being as creative as she is, we went back and forth and came up with a gorgeous military look that opens the show."
Britney's performance stylist Soyon An (who has worked with the likes of Taylor Swift and Katy Perry) told People that Britney's hotter-than-ever bod inspired her to take the ensembles "to the next level." She wanted the costumes even sexier, and so the pieces will feature more bodysuits (very on-trend) and more bare skin, "with a lot more stones and crystals."
We wouldn't expect anything less. Or more (in the coverage department, that is)!
This reimagined black cutout body-con by LaBourjoisie comes with, you guessed it, a floor-skimming cape. We're sensing a theme...
According to An, the entire process of creating the costumes from sketch to finish was somehow completed in two to three weeks.
Spears, who's earning a reported $475,000 per show, brings in sold-out crowds, filling 4,500 seats every performance at The Axis at Planet Hollywood. So it's quite nice to know that she takes the time to help attend to the special details that go into making Piece of Me more than just the sum of its parts.
