Oh, what could have been...

Awards show have a special way of bringing former co-stars together, and the 2016 Oscars was no exception. While Leonardo DiCaprio and Kate Winslet's Titanic reunion was not to be missed, diehard fans of another epic romance flick were quick to notice another gathering that surely would have made our hearts melt twice over.

Yes, that's right. Three stars of The NotebookRachel McAdams, Ryan Gosling and Gena Rowlands—were all in attendance at the Academy Awards, and let's just say the Internet wanted nothing more than to relive an Allie and Noah rainy makeout sesh.

And although Ryan, Rachel and Gena might not have reenacted any of their iconic scenes on Sunday night, each celeb was being honored in a big way.

McAdams was nominated for Best Supporting Actress for Spotlight (though she lost to Alicia Vikander) and her former leading man's film The Big Short was up for Best Picture. As for Rowlands, the legendary actress received an honorary gold stature for Lifetime Achievement in Film.

Notebook fans shouldn't feel completely discouraged, though. The night isn't over yet!
