Nobody will be crying a river after hearing this news!

We were more than excited when news broke back in September that Justin Timberlake will be headed back to the big-screen in an animated musical titled Trolls.

Fast-forward to today where we found out the "Rock Your Body" singer will be doing much more than lending his voice to a character.

E! News can confirm Timberlake will write and perform original songs for the highly anticipated comedy.

"I have always envisioned bringing the two worlds of film and music together for one epic event [and] couldn't be more excited that they will collide in DreamWorks' Trolls," Timberlake said in a press release obtained by E! News. "This film is very special, the music is going to be very special and I can't wait for everyone to experience it all."

The animated film tells the story behind the beloved Trolls and their gravity-defying, colorful manes. According to the studio's press release, Timberlake will play Branch—the "hilariously hardcore survivalist who hides his surprising true colors"—and set out on an unforgettable journey with Princess Poppy (Anna Kendrick).

The quest takes the two far beyond the only world they have ever known and will test their strength and reveal their true colors—with lots of musical mash-ups along the way.

"Justin is an amazingly versatile artist and producer whose unprecedented creative talents provide a unique voice and sound for our movie," DreamWorks said in a statement. "Trolls is a comedy with fantastic music at its core and we can't think of a more perfect artist to elevate this soundtrack to incredible heights."

This will be Timberlake's first film since he welcomed a baby boy with wife Jessica Biel last April. Perhaps baby Silas will be able to watch the finished product once it hits theatres Nov. 4, 2016.

THR was first to report the news.
