Not going to lie to you, Chicago fans: There are rough roads ahead for some of your favorite couples from Chicago Fire and Chicago P.D. The casts of both shows dished to E! News last week about the biggest obstacles coming up for their characters, and unfortunately, the future isn't looking bright for romance.

P.D.'s Burgess (Marina Squerciati) and Ruzek (Patrick John Flueger) both want their characters' romance to continue but have a warning: There's a bumpy journey ahead for the couple. Don't worry—they both have faith Burzek will pull through—it just might be a difficult time for the pair coming up. Lindsay (Sophia Bush) and Halstead (Jesse Lee Soffer), on the other hand, will be experiencing some "freedom" now that Voight gave them his seal of approval.

Fire's Casey (Jesse Spencer) and Dawson (Monica Raymund) are still reeling after the loss of their unborn child—but hopefully it will help strengthen their relationship in the long run. "The major thing we want to come from this is it's going to bring them closer together," Spencer dished to E! News when we traveled all the way to Chi-town to get as much scoop as possible on the Dick Wolf-iverse.

Lest you worry about all the heavy storylines going forward, know this: There's plenty more PDA ahead for paramedic Chili (Dora Madison) and new candidate Borelli (Steven R. McQueen). Phew.

Watch: Taylor Kinney Dishes on "Chicago Fire" Drama

Watch the video above for the tidbits about what's to come on Fire, including Severide's (Taylor Kinney) struggle to find his place in the firehouse and a potential romance for Otis (Yuri Sardarov). Here's what you can expect:

1. Severide isn't coping well with his demotion.

"He doesn't necessarily take my role but he's a person of authority and it gets in the way of the way I do things, the way I run my squad," Kinney dishes. "He's in charge, and that's frustrating."

2. Casey and Dawson will attempt to move on from the tragic loss of their child.

"These people experience trauma a lot in their day-to-day lives, and they generally tend to put it in a box and push it away," Spencer says." This one, they'll also do that, but before they do that they're going to make sure they're healed, hopefully, as human beings."

3. What's the deal with Chili and Borelli?

"I would say that there's a lot of at-work canoodling," teases Madison of her on-screen romance with the new candidate. "He's just so cute! You just want to kiss him all over—and I do! I kiss him all over."

4. Is Otis getting a new love interest?

"Maybe! Maybe a couple," jokes Sardarov.

And as for P.D., the video above will tell you everything you need to know about Burzek, Linstead, and what's to come for Atwater.

1. There's "bumpiness" ahead for Burzek.

"You know what we're going to do, though? We're going to wink at the fans when the bumpiness comes so they know we still love each other as friends," jokes Squerciati.

2. Are Linstead still going strong?

"For a minute they're going to enjoy some freedom and their flirtation will grow and we'll see where that goes and they'll still be kicking ass and taking names in the unit," says Soffer. Plus—there's a road trip ahead for the two.

3. What's coming up for Atwater?

"I think he learns a good lesson the hard way about himself and how he wants to protect his family and his career," says LaRoyce Hawkins.

Chicago Fire airs Tuesdays at 10 p.m. and Chicago P.D. airs Wednesdays at 9 p.m. on NBC.
