Some sort of miracle happened on tonight's Dancing with the Stars, and it made for one suspenseful evening.

There was a big question as to whether or not Tamar Braxton would make it to the show, and therefore be able to stay in the competition, after she was taken to the emergency room earlier today.

She wasn't back in time for her first performance with Val Chmerkovskiy, so the judges had to score her dress rehearsal footage.

She was, however, able to make it just barely in time for her team dance with Nick Carter and Sharna Burgess, and she did a damn good job for someone who had just returned from the emergency room.

Unfortunately, someone still had to go home, and Alexa PenaVega ended up being that someone. On one hand, she's going out on the highest of notes, with two perfect scores from her solo and team performances tonight.

On the other hand, she just gave us two perfect performances, and we could have seen her going to the finals.

Speaking of perfect performances, let's run down the night's best and worst, shall we?

9. Tamar Braxton and Val Chmerkovskiy: 22/30

We're not really counting this in our ranking, because it was rehearsal footage and wasn't really fair.

8. Alek Skarlatos and Lindsay Arnold: 24/30

Best Alek has ever done, and we will say that the smooth chest had quite the positive affect on perhaps even his attitude.

7. Team Alek, Lindsay, Carlos, and Witney: 24/30

The judges didn't love it, and it had its awkward moments, but we thought it was a lot of fun.

6. Team Tamar, Val, Nick, and Sharna: 27/30

Given the fact that Tamar had literally just walked into the studio after being in the emergency room, this Cirque de Soleil-themed number was pretty damn good.

5. Carlos PenaVega and Witney Carson: 27/30

An Argentine Tango to "What Do You Mean" by Justin Bieber? Didn't know we needed that, but we're sure happy to have it. It kind of made us think of that classic So You Think You Can Dance routine involving tWitch and a door, which—trust us—is a compliment.

4. Nick Carter and Sharna Burgess: 28/30

When a quick step is good, it is so good, and this one was real good (in our eyes, at least). The 1920's Gatsby-esque number made us all the sadder that we can't time travel. Or dance.

3. Bindi Irwin and Derek Hough: 30/30

Ugh, could these two get any more gorgeous? Last week, we wanted to drink them like Red Bull. This week, we want to weave them into a blanket and wrap ourselves in them to keep us warm through the winter.

2. Alexa PenaVega and Mark Ballas: 30/30

Tear-jerking perfection. We weren't expecting Alexa to get real about her struggle with bulimia, but we greatly appreciated her honesty and found ourselves deeply affected by her dance, which essentially had Mark playing bulimia.

1. Team Alexa, Mark, Bindi, and Derek: 30/30

Yes hello Broadway and/or Hollywood? We've found the new cast of Chicago. If you don't agree, we'll just be watching that performance of "All That Jazz" over and over for the next several days, at least.

Who had your favorite performance? Did the right couple go home? Sound off in the comments!
