"Believe" in the return of Mumford & Sons!

Exactly one week after announcing a third album is coming soon, the British rock band has released their first single from the highly-anticipated disc.

Titled—you guessed it—"Believe," the hot new track features plenty of electric guitar sounds as well as some heartfelt lyrics.

"So open up my eyes / Tell me I'm alive," the band sings. "This is never gonna go our way / If I'm gonna have to guess what's on your mind." And as it turns out, the powerful song came to life after the group attended a wedding ceremony in the Lone Star State.

"My best friend got married in Texas and so the family at the ranch let us stay on in an outhouse for a week and we did a lot of writing there," Marcus Mumford shared with Rolling Stone. "I had to leave early by a day. By the time we met up in London a couple of weeks later to demo the songs that we'd been writing, the boys brought ‘Believe' to the table and I got it and just sung."

The new sound and messages come after the band promised they were going to "shake it up" the third time around.

"The songwriting hasn't changed drastically," Marcus previously told fans. "It was led more by a desire to not do the same thing again. Plus, we fell back in love with drums! It's as simple as that."

If you like what you hear, mark your calendars. The band's latest album featuring twelve new songs is available May 4.
