Togetherness, Amanda Peet

Most HBO shows these days are almost guaranteed to feature two things: no commercials, and nakedness. Jay and Mark Duplass' Togetherness, which premieres this Sunday, is no different. The comedy, which follows married couple Brett (Mark Duplass) and Michelle (Melanie Lynskey) trying to keep their marriage alive as his best friend and her sister suddenly move in with them and their children, suffers from no shortage of both male and female nudity.

Most of the nakedness comes from star Amanda Peet, who plays Tina, Michelle's free-spirited sister. At one point, Tina flashes her way into getting what she wants from Brett's best friend, Alex (Steve Zissis).

When Peet appeared  before a room full reporters today to promote the show, the subject was bound to be brought up, and luckily, Peet had a great sense of humor whe she was asked if it's hard to keep the comedy going when you're topless.

"I think it's really vital to stay in a comic place if you're going to take your clothes off at age 42 after you've breastfed two children," she told the reporters. "Otherwise, it's just tragic."

While Peet's character does seem to be fairly comfortable with nudity, she's not the only one. The pilot features perhaps one of the worst TV comedy sex scenes of all time. We won't give you too many details, but let's just say it ends with raw meat resting on Brett's nether regions – and he's a hardcore vegan.

For some reason, reporters didn't seem as interested in that part of the episode as they were in the scene with Peet's breasts, but Mark Duplass wasn't about to let it go.

"Why don't you ask me about my balls?" he asked, "I showed my balls, and nobody is asking about that!"

That wasn't all for the panel, either. Thanks to Steve Zissis, we now have the word "mangina" to define a guy who's friends with the girl he also has a crush on. Oxford Dictionary's word of the year 2015? We can only hope.

To catch the series premiere of Togetherness, be sure to tune into HBO on Sunday, January 11 at 9:30 p.m., right after the season 4 premiere of Girls.
