Celeb hair swaps that made our jaws drop

Hair today, gone tomorrow! (Or purple tomorrow. Or shaved tomorrow. Or...you get the picture.)

This year, celebs kept us on our toes with breathtaking gowns, statement-making trends and out-there outfits—but we also had to be on the lookout for stars' ever-changing hair colors, shocking haircuts and the next in line to rock the ubiquitous bob.

Of course, there were some we didn't see coming this year: Who can forget the wacky mushroom cut that Robert Pattinson debuted in mid-November? (We can only surmise that the star was trying to match the rocker edge of ladylove FKA Twigs.) And we, like you, also had to double take every time Nicole Richie changed hair colors.

In the teal arena? Demi Lovato and Lena Dunham, both of whom showcased minty fresh locks in 2014. And in the blond pixie brigade, we noted Kaley Cuoco-Sweeting, Pamela Anderson and a short-lived platinum 'do for Adam Levine.

Finally, the bob heard around the world: Lauren Conrad revoked her long California locks membership and checked into chic lob territory with a series of inch-by-inch cuts in October.
