You'd think the man possessing The Cumberbutt would know his way around booty, but low and behold, Benedict Cumberbatch does not!
Still, on Monday's Tonight Show, the Imitation Game star attempted, three words at a time, to get Jimmy Fallon to guess this mystery word. Naturally, Kim Kardashian's headline-making rear-end made its way into the conservation...
But, let's backtrack (pun intended) a moment. Mr. Cumberbatch could barely contain his smirk when he saw booty was his mystery word. Still, he gave an honest attempt (although he used four words, oops), saying, "You've got to shake..."
Presumably, Benedict was thinking along the lines of K.C. and the Sunshine Band's 1976 hit, "(Shake Shake Shake) Shake Your Booty." Jimmy, however, interpreted this three-word lead-in as a reference to Taylor Swift's hit song from her new album, 1989. So, understandably, he responded, "Shake It Off."
It seemed Sherlock Holmes was unfamiliar with T.Swift's catalogue, and after a few flustered three-word attempts, Benedict decided (in three words), "I start again."
"OK, you go," Jimmy conceded.
With a straight face, Benedict began his story with the words, "A beautiful, big..."
This gave a certain late-night host the giggles, after which he followed up, uncertainly, "Kim Kardashian's butt?"
B.C. wasn't quite sure where to go with that one, so he said, "...makes lots of..."
Oh, dear. The engaged actor (sorry for the reminder, Cumberbitches) got the giggles, himself, even admitting out of turn, "We're going a long way to hopefully come back again—I don't know where we are now!"
Jimmy laughed heartily, using his three words to complete the phrase: "Kim Kardashian's butt...makes lots of...money for Kanye?"
Ha, well, Jimmy, Kim and Yeezus both bring in the big bucks—that's what makes Kimye a power couple. In any case, "money for Kanye" seemed totally off the mark, but it triggered an idea for Benedict. Addressing Jimmy, he said, "Money, is also...."
The late-night host's face lit up, and he exclaimed triumphantly, "Booty!"
