Get ready to swoon! We have an exclusive first look at Norman Reedus' The Walking Dead season five photo. Check out Reedus in all his Daryl Dixon, crossbow-slinging glory above.

The Walking Dead season four ended with Darly, Rick (Andrew Lincoln), Michonne (Danai Gurira) and the rest of the zombie apocalypse survivors trapped in Terminus. Something tells us they get out...and it's pretty violent. That something is this season five trailer.

AMC recently revealed the new key art for The Walking Dead season five and it promises to ruin your appetite: "Hunt or be Hunted." Terminus folks aren't so nice after all...

Expect the fifth season premiere to be explosive. "I remember a couple of scenes I would look over at what was going on in the scene and I would be like, 'What the eff? What are we doing? How is this legal?' It's grounded and real, too; it's not like torture or gore for no reason," Steven Yeun told E! News earlier this summer about the season five premiere. "It's literally, that is what would happen and we are trying to show it. It would not work on network television, let me tell you that."

As The Walking Dead continues the story of the Georgia-based survivors, AMC is looking to expand the world to a new location. The network announced it has orderd a pilot from comic book scribe and The Walking Dead executive producer Robert Kirkman to act as a companion series to its mega hit. The show will follow new characters and is set in a different location.

"Almost from the beginning of The Walking Dead on AMC, fans have been curious about what is going on in the zombie apocalypse in other parts of the world. In fact, beyond requests for zombie cameos, it's the question I get asked the most," AMC President Charlie Collier said in a statement. "Obviously, we all take our stewardship of the original franchise incredibly seriously and we, along with Robert, Gale, David and now Dave, are all proceeding with extreme care in order to ensure that we are offering fans something truly compelling, engaging and distinct. We're thrilled to be taking this next step with these remarkable partners."

Production on the companion series is set to begin in late 2014.

The Walking Dead season 5 premieres Oct. 12 at 9 p.m. on AMC.
