Kesha's red carpet look at the 2014 MTV VMAs was rather demure, but before the show, she was just a few hairs away from a serious wardrobe malfunction!
The 27-year-old "Timber" singer Instagrammed a "partially nude" selfie while getting ready Sunday, flaunting some serious under boob (and inner boob, which unlike cleavage, requires no external support) from the makeup chair. Her rainbow hair extensions covered her nipples, giving a #rainbownakedboob effect, as Kesha called it.
It takes some serious body confidence to share a topless selfie with the world, but Kesha hasn't always felt this comfortable in her own skin. Earlier this year, in fact, she spent two months in rehab seeking treatment for an eating disorder.
In an interview with Teen Vogue's August issue, Kesha revealed that being in the entertainment industry, where she's constantly photographed and critiqued, contributed to her problem. "It really messed with my head, and I realized I couldn't do it by myself," she said. "The decision to take control of it is the scariest thing I've ever done, and this is coming from someone who dives with sharks and jumps out of airplanes for fun."
The process of seeking treatment "made me so much stronger and ready to take life by the horns," she said, "and make a record that I'm going to be proud of and not care what anybody else thinks!"
