Well, let's just get something out of our system right now: Rihanna. That dress! Woah.

We're still reeling from Rihanna's totally sheer ensemble she wore to the 2014 CFDA Awards, and while it doesn't make our best dressed list, it still deserves calling out right off the bat. It's in a category of its own.

OK, now on to the best dressed of the night. Rachel Zoe just killed it. She proved why she's been in this industry for so long by knocking it out of the park in one of her own creations.

Then there was Solange Knowles, who we thought looked so glamorous and statuesque in her shimmering pewter Calvin Klein Collection number.

Speaking of sparkles—we're seeing a glittering theme here. Blake Lively also opted for glitz, and she looked fresh and fun in a Michael Kors dress with a scalloped hemline.

We've also got to give props to Jennifer Hudson who kept it simple but stunning in a one-shouldered gown that showed just the right amount of skin.

OK, now let's dive into the fashion misses, shall we?

As much as it pains us to put Lupita Nyong'o in our list of least favorites, we admit with a heavy heart: we didn't love it. We really do like that she keeps us talking (that's what fashion is all about, after all). But we're craving those Oscar and SAG Award days!

Betsey Johnson almost gets a pass to wear whatever she wants on the red carpet, but even still, we weren't huge fans of her accessories: platform heels, a knitted cap and a corsage.

And while we love Anna Chlumsky on Veep, we weren't feeling her puzzling crop top ensemble. There's just too much going on here. And those Lucite heels didn't exactly pull the whole look together.

Overall? This was an exciting red carpet! Plenty to take in and a few gasp-worthy moments, courtesy RiRi.

Who did you think was best and worst dressed of the night?
