Zac Posen, take us with you to the Met Gala, please.

The A-list designer is preparing to attend fashion's biggest event on May 5 with this year's theme celebrating legendary 20th-century American couturier Charles James.

Zac has dressed numerous celebrities on the red carpet, including Sofia Vergara, Lena Dunham, Christina Ricci and last year for the Met Ball he dressed Uma Thurman in an olive hourglass design with a sweeping train.

E! News caught up with Zac at the Variety Power of Women luncheon sponsored by HTC One in New York City, and he dished on what to expect at this year's gala.

Based on Zac's predictions, we are pretty pumped for the big night. "I think people are going to look spectacular! I think we are going to see lots of major, major gowns and very strong iconic moments," he said. "You know, it's a very cut down list so I think everyone that's going is expected to shine."

And what is Zac planning on wearing? "I had the experience for the first time ever in my life having couture made for me by another American designer, and its been an incredible experience," he said. "I am very excited to debut that at the Met in honor of James."

And like many designers, Zac was incredibly influenced by the work of Charles James. "James' balance of structure, glamour and technique...he was a scientist as well as an emotional artist, and the pieces are elegant, glamorous and erotic," said Zac.

He added, "I have had a sneak peek of the exhibit, and it looks spectacular. In a few weeks Anna and myself as well as a few other special people will cut the ribbon." What an honor!

We can't wait to see which star Zac will be designing for and what he'll be wearing on the Met Gala red carpet. Stay tuned!
