Gabrielle Union Talks Prenup and Wedding Planning With Dwyane Wade: "There's a Lot of People That Think They're Coming"

Gabrielle Union is wiser this time around.

The beautiful bride-to-be will soon be walking down the aisle to marry her beau Dwyane Wade, but this isn't her first time getting married (she was previously married to retired NFL player Chris Howard), so she's doing things a little differently her second time—and that includes getting a prenup.

When talking about her previous relationships, Union told Arsenio Hall on his show last night, "Not everybody had the same six-pack as Dwyane. A little fuller, perhaps. Maybe not as much hair. And I'm divorced, so clearly I've made a ton of mistakes."

She continued, "For this marriage, the biggest difference between this and the last marriage will be a prenup. At my insistence. At my insistence. When you have your own stuff, you don't need to worry about anyone else's stuff. So everyone should go into the relationship knowing I'm here for you and you're here for me, and the reality is I've never seen Dwyane balance a checkbook, so I gotta protect my stuff."

The 41-year-old does say planning a wedding is easier once you've been through it before, even though she admits the first time around all she did was write checks because she was too busy working to get too involved.

She even shared that "the pastor who married me the first time, he didn't even get my name right. He refused to come to the rehearsal dinner and then didn't say my name correctly. That should have been a sign this isn't gonna work."

Aside from making sure the pastor correctly pronounces her name, Union says she won't be having an bridesmaids. "Trying to rangle a bunch of broads—somebody wants one kind of dress, somebody wants something else…We're older, this is the second time around, you know, it's us and the kids just riding out. Just us."

And the guest list is going to be super exclusive. "There's a lot of people that think they're coming. And they are not," she said, adding that Wade is "the executioner. He's like, 'Let's go through your list…Absolutely not.' Yeah, if you're not about us and we don't both have a relationship with you, you're not gonna make it."
