Khloé Kardashian wasn't unable to get pregnant with Lamar Odom's baby—she just knew she wasn't ready.

Kim Kardashian explained that "the whole time" fans thought Khloé was struggling with fertility issues, "she wasn't trying to [get pregnant]."  And as she said on Jimmy Kimmel Live Thursday, Jan. 23, it's now "more understandable" why a Khlomar baby never came to be.

"For so long, everyone in our family was feeling really sad for Khloé [and] thinking that she wasn't getting pregnant and everyone around her was," said Kim, who welcomed baby North West in June 2013.

"She was not showing up to these doctors' appointments behind our back on purpose and doing everything on purpose [to not get pregnant]," Kim said. "She knew that it wasn't right. She knew that she wasn't ready."

Khloé wasn't trying to have a baby all that time, but she was trying to save her relationship with Lamar. The 29-year-old Keeping Up With the Kardashians star went to couples therapy, encouraged Lamar to seek treatment for substance addiction and did everything in her power to work things out before finally filing for divorce in December 2013.

Fortunately for Khloé, though, her family is there for her—in good times and bad. "When you have a really good support system, it can be easier," Kim explained. "It's never going to be easy, but it can be easier."
