UPDATE: Joe Jonas tweeted back to Demi, "@ddlovato love you back sis."
There seem to be some differing opinions on Joe Jonas' essay for New York magazine.
In the piece, titled "Joe Jonas: My Life as a Jonas Brother," the 24-year-old singer opened up about many aspects of his life, including his famous relationship with Demi Lovato.
Along with sharing that the Skyscraper singer and Miley Cyrus were part of Jonas' first weed-smoking experience, Joe stated, "I really got to know her [Lovato] and got to see the ins and outs of what she was struggling with, like drug abuse.
"I felt I needed to take care of her, but at the same time I was living a lie, because I wasn't happy but felt like I had to stay in it for her, because she needed help. I couldn't express any of that, of course, because I had a brand to protect."
So what did Demi have to say to that?! Well, unlike what some may have expected, Lovato didn't have any ill feelings about what was said, and tweeted, "@joejonas love you brother. #family/friendsforever."
Her older sister, Dallas Lovato, on the other hand, had different sentiments. "Pathetic how people cut others down to get attention off themselves.. Loser," she tweeted.
Demi and Joe dated for a couple months back in 2010. While the "Heart Attack" singer admitted during an interview with ABC's Nightline that she was "really mad at him" following their split, she explained that they have a great relationship now.
"I can fortunately say that him, and his brother Nick, have always been there for me and are literally family, and like brothers...we have a great friendship. And we may not be as close as we used to be, but that's OK," Lovato said.
Wonder what Dallas thinks about that?
