Looks like the Latin Grammy Awards is off to a rainy start.

The awards show, which takes place tonight at the Mandalay Bay Convention Center in Las Vegas, canceled the standard red carpet arrivals outdoors in lieu of covered protection from Sin City's current dreary weather, a source told E! News.

"Due to rare weather conditions, we have accommodated as many extra media outlets as possible to rooms in the media center inside the venue so that everyone has an opportunity to obtain coverage of nominees, presenters, and performers for the 14th Annual Latin GRAMMY Awards. We thank everyone for their patience and cooperation, and we look forward to another successful and exciting telecast," the Latin Recording Academy and Univision Network said in a joint statement.

We love a glamorous red carpet opportunity, so we can't help but feel a twinge of disappointment right now and it's safe to say that Mother Nature didn't seem too concerned about the star-studded event when she decided to downpour today!

Like all fans, we were eagerly anticipating the arrivals of our favorite talent to walk down the red carpet this afternoon at its scheduled 2 p.m. start time, but were left high and dry with nothing to ogle other than a gloomy (and very empty!) scene.

Given the pouring rain, we certainly don't blame the stars for skipping it all together, but it's always a fun treat to score a sneak peek at the gorgeous gowns and dazzling jewels before they take the stage.

Given the extra prep time the stars were allotted due to the inclement weather, we're guessing they'll look more gorgeous than ever tonight, and our anticipation is building for the festivities to come.

We can't wait!
