Ruben Studdard's journey on The Biggest Loser came to an end on Tuesday night.

The American Idol alum was eliminated from the NBC reality competition after failing to drop the required weight. Studdard, who was a fan favorite in season 15, needed to lose 11 pounds to save his team. But when he stepped on the scale, it was revealed that he only managed to lose 5 pounds.

"I worked really, really hard this week," he said during the weigh-in. "I swam extra. I walked extra."

Despite all of his hard work, the 35-year-old was kicked off the show, but his consolation prize was a weight loss of 18 pounds.

"This experience is one of the toughest things I've been through," Ruben said. "I've been through two-a-day football practices; I've been through the American Idol experience; I've been through a lot of mentally and physically challenging experiences in my life. And this, you know, ranks right up there at the top."

Dolvett Quince, his trainer, praised the season-two Idol winner for his hard work: "Everything I asked you to do, you did it."

Studdard may have left the show, but he is leaving a different person.

"My goal coming to The Biggest Loser ranch was to leave here a changed person," he said. "I think I reached that goal."
