The lady is a vamp! The fifth season of The Vampire Diaries premiered on Thursday, Oct. 3, and Nina Dobrev's character Elena Gilbert kicked things off with a bang when she got and heavy with Ian Somerhalder's Damon Salvatore. Her other onscreen persona—the mortal-again Katherine Pierce—showed plenty of skin in the episode, too.
The 24-year-old TV star shared some behind-the-scenes pictures with fans via her official WhoSay account on Thursday, Oct. 24. The first shot, taken in black and white, shows the sudsy star draping her legs over a bathtub's porcelain edge.
The second WhoSay pic, shown in color, shows the Bulgarian-born beauty laughing in the water as crew members work around her. "BehindTheScenes-Making Bubbles!! All day on set in a hot bath. Tough day at work!" Dobrev captioned. "It was all fun+games til I became a human prune."
Dobrev also shared pictures from the hair and makeup chair to show how Katherine and Jeremy (Stephen R. McQueen) achieved the "bloody look" after their characters got injured in a car accident.
Her work life aside, the brunette star made headlines recently when she broke up with Dancing With the Stars pro Derek Hough following a six-week courtship. Dobrev was previously in a three-year relationship with her Vampire Diaries costar Somerhalder.
