NBC will have what she's executive producing!

Meg Ryan, the beloved star of When Harry Met Sally and Sleepless in Seattle, is looking to head to the small screen as the star of a new comedy for NBC, E! News has confirmed. But Ryan won't only headline the new project, she'll serve as an executive producer, too!

The series, which is in development, is being written by Miss Congeniality and Family Ties' Marc Lawrence, who teamed up with Ryan to work on the premise over the summer.

In the currently untitled series, Ryan will star as a devoted and nonconfrontational single mother who returns to her New York publishing house, where she was once a brilliant editor. Of course, things have changed since she left and her former intern Brenda is now her 30-year-old boss. Now, she has to find a way to keep her neurotic boss, her teenage kids, her soon-to-be ex-husband and her overbearing mother-in-law happy, which always seems to lead to her overcomplicating every situation.

Though she's kept a famously low profile as of late, Ryan has made several guest appearances on Lisa Kudrow's Web Therapy, and played herself in a 2009 episode of Curb Your Enthusiasm. The You've Got Mail star began her career on TV, with appearances on As The World Turns and Wildside. Her last film appearance was in Serious Moonlight in 2009.

Ryan is just the latest big name to head to the small screen: Halle Berry is set to headline CBS' drama Extant, in which she'll play an astronaut who returns home after a year-long solo mission in space and struggles to reconnect with her family.
