Rob Lowe is headed to Camelot.
The trailer for National Geographic Channel's Killing Kennedy has hit the web and finds the ex-West Wing star playing John F. Kennedy in this movie based on Fox pundit Bill O'Reilly and Martin Dugard's bestseller about the events leading up to the 35th president's assassination.
In the teaser, which was released not so coincidentally on John and First Lady Jacqueline Kennedy's "diamond" wedding anniversary, Lowe offers up his best attempt at Kennedy's Boston accent as the Commander-in-Chief recites a speech delivered on the morning of his death.
What then follows are melodramatic slow-motion shots of a smiling Kennedy, Jackie as played by Ginnifer Goodwin; Will Rothhaar holding a rifle as JFK's killer Lee Harvey Oswald; Michelle Trachtenberg as the latter's wife, Marina Oswald; and the images of a bullet hitting the ground and an open-air limousine of the kind the American president rode in when he was gunned down in Dallas' Dealey Plaza on Nov. 22, 1063
Taking advantage of the 50th anniversary of that dark moment in American history, Nat Geo has scheduled Killing Kennedy to premiere on Nov. 10.
