Mockingjay Casting: Stef Dawson Joins Hunger Games Franchise as Annie Cresta

Australian actress becomes newest addition to the anticipated adaptation

Hunger Games fans can finally put a face to the name of at least one more character.

The verified Twitter account for Catching Fire announced this morning that another casting for the anticipated films Mockingjay 1 & 2, the pair of films based on the final book of Suzanne Collins' Hunger Games trilogy.

"It's official! Please welcome Stef Dawson as Annie Cresta to the cast of @TheHungerGames: Mockingjay Parts 1&2," the tweet said.

Dawson will play the victor from District 4 and love interest of fellow victor Finnick Odair.

Annie's character is first mentioned in Catching Fire, when she is reaped for the second time to compete in the Third Quarter Quell, but Mags, an older tribute, who helped Finnick mentor Annie during her Hunger Games, volunteered to enter in her place.

However, Annie becomes more prominent in Mockingjay when she is reunited with her one true love, Odair.

The casting news came shortly after production announced that Game of Thrones actress Natalie Dormer will join the franchise. Dormer, 31, will play Cressida, the resident director from the Capitol who joins the Districts' revolt.

The second installment in the series, Catching Fire, will open wide Nov. 22.

Mockingjay Part 1 comes out Nov. 21, 2014, and the trilogy will come to an end on Nov. 20, 2015, when Part 2 caps off the action.
