Boom! And just like that, Kendrick Lamar got everyone's attention.

On Monday, Big Sean's track "Control"—a previously unreleased song featuring Lamar—finally dropped, and it includes Lamar's colossal takedown of a who's who of hip-hop artists as he spews forth a hail of lacerating barbs while taunting them to up their game.

The track had originally been recorded for Big Sean's Hall of Fame album and also features Jay Electronica. But it's Lamar's extended verse—which trashes Drake, Meek Mill, A$AP Rocky and even Big Sean himself—that has everyone talking.

"I'm usually homeboys with the same n---as I'm rhymin with / But this is hip-hop and them n---as should know what time it is/ And that goes for Jermaine Cole, Big K.R.I.T., Wale, Pusha T, Meek Mill, A$AP Rocky, Drake, Big Sean, Jay Electron', Tyler, Mac Miller," the 26-year-old raps.

"I got love for you all but I'm tryna murder you n---as / Tryna make sure your core fans never heard of you n---as / They don't wanna hear not one more noun or verb from you n---as."

The verse quickly fired up the Twittersphere, as hip-hop's biggest names weighed in on the track, with many hailing Lamar for shaking things up.

"Hip Hop was born out of competition and raised by battles. This is what Music needs. More people who want to be the BEST not BEST FRIENDS," read a tweet by RevoltTV that was retweeted by Sean "Diddy" Combs.

Push T, meanwhile, tweeted, "I hear u loud and clear my n--a," while Big K.R.I.T. wrote: "This is Gladiator S--t...Gotta give the people what they want."

"I never really tweet about music. But good lord.. @kendricklamar just like.. Bodied everyones entire year's worth of raps lol," tweeted Just Blaze.

And proving himself to be all ears, Big Sean himself weighed in: "@kendricklamar so mad on that song, ha ha...Sheesh @JayElectronica on there like a scientist! Thanks u rappin ass n--as."

Lamar's fiery tirade even spurred one unlikely response: Pitch Perfect star Anna Kendrick tweeted, "So 'Kendrick' is trending worldwide. I can only assume this is because of my ongoing feud with @zachbraff #ThisRapGame."
