BravoGiuliana and Bill Rancic have quite the fairy tale love story.
Swinging by Bravo's Watch What Happens Tuesday night, the celebrity duo spilled to host Andy Cohen about how they fell in love, their first date, Bill's aspirations as a dad, and how they maintain the sparks in their nearly six-year marriage.
Asked by a caller from Long Island when they knew they were going to marry, Giuliana confessed she was swooning over Bill before he shot to fame after winning the first season of The Apprentice.
"I think it was love at first sight for me, for sure. I used to watch that first season of The Apprentice like it was nobody's business. And I would watch for Bill. And I just thought Bill was such a fox," she said.
As the saying goes, timing's everything in a relationship. And according to the E! News host, when the assignment came her way to interview the newly minted reality star, she jumped at the chance.
"I was all over it, Andy. I'm like, 'outta the way, okay?' added Giuliana, noting that the first time they actually met was on camera.
" You're gonna die because in the interview I go, 'Bill, so are you gonna settle down with your girlfriend?' recalled the TV personality. "He goes, 'actually, we just broke up.'"
And with that, she said, he paid her the biggest compliment she could ever imagine.
"I go, 'really, do you want to settle down anytime soon and meet the right woman?' And he goes, I'm holding out.' And I said, 'what are you holding out for?' And he said, 'I'm holding out for you,'" revealed Giuliana. "Couldn't you die?"
Awww.
The couple got engaged eight months later. But as Giuliana pointed out, it wasn't exactly love at first sight for Bill, joking that at first, "I think he thought I was pretty fugly."
Not so, said the entrepreneur. Bill went on to explain that he knew this was the woman for him on their third date when Giuliana came to visit him for the weekend in Chicago and he took her out on for a motorcycle ride. It started raining, he said, at which point they took shelter at a Crate & Barrel and he suggested they buy the towels only to have G remark they should towel off right there in the store.
"I thought, I like this girl!" said Bill. "She's not some high-dollar girl from Hollywood…she's very frugal."
When asked what he wanted to do next after finding his success as a businessman, TV host and author, Rancic revealed his first priority was being a great dad to baby son, Duke, and perhaps another little bundle of joy in the future.
"The honest answer is to be a good father," he said. "I think that's my career goal in life is to be the coach of the teams. I want to have the house where all the kids hang out at. It's gonna be the fun house cause…we've got our eye on the little guy and hopefully a girl down the road and we just wanna be good parents."
As for keeping it hot and spicy in the bedroom, Giuliana told viewers date night for them isn't getting dressed up and going out to a fancy, expensive restaurant.
Instead she said, "We get chinese food, get in bed, watch Andy and make love."
