The Bling Ring really is a thing of the past
Courtney Leigh Ames, the last of the defendants charged in the infamous string of celebrity burglaries, pleaded no contest Friday to a felony charge, the Los Angeles D.A.'s office announced.
The 22-year-old admitted to receiving a leather jacket that was stolen from Paris Hilton's home in 2009. She will return Feb. 1, 2013, for sentencing and is expected to receive three years formal probation and 60 days of community service, said Deputy D.A. Christine Kee in a statement.
In exchange for her plea, one felony count of each conspiracy to commit burglary, residential burglary and receiving stolen property will be dismissed when she's sentenced.
Ames joins the other five defendants—Nicholas Prugo, 22, Rachel Lee, 22, Alexis Neiers, 21, Diana Tamayo, 22, and Roy Lopez Jr., 30—in connection with the celebrity home burglaries between September 2008 and August 2009.
Authorities said the group took in more than $3 million of jewelry, clothing and accessories from the houses of Orlando Bloom, Paris Hilton, Brian Austin Green and Megan Fox, Rachel Bilson, Lindsay Lohan and Audrina Patridge.
It's not really over yet, though. Sofia Coppola plans to bring the Bling Ring drama to the big screen with a feature film.
Ames was sentenced on Feb. 1, 2013, to 60 days of community service and three years on probation for her role in the Bling Ring.
