Don't mind us while we pick our jaws up off the floor.

Tonight's episode of Homeland was absolutely insane (in the best way possible), and left one major character in a body bag. So what went down? And why will Carrie (Claire Danes) and Brody (Damian Lews) fans be cheering?

Let's recap "The Mother...With a Turban" right now:

Where's Nazir? Carrie goes back to find Abu Nazir (Navid Negahban), but loses him. Peter (Rupert Friend) is convinced that Nazir slipped out before she got back, but if that's the case, then he must have had help from someone inside the CIA. When both theories don't pan out Carrie wants to interrogate Roya Hammad (Zuleikha Robinson). It's mostly unsuccessful except for one thing that sticks out in Carrie's mind: Nazir wouldn't run. Carrie is convinced again that Nazir is hiding in the tunnels.

CIA Throwdown: Estes (David Harewood) and Saul (Mandy Patinkin) continue to do battle. Estes makes Saul take a polygraph test where he is asked about Aileen's suicide and if he provided her with the weapon. This is all a smoke screen because Saul knows about the assassination attempt that is going to be made on Brody. Estes tells Saul he wants him out of the agency or else he will use the polygraph findings to tie him up in court.

Milk Meltdown: The Brodys are more than a little sick of each other in their close quarters. Dana flips out and tells Brody that Mike was a better father and their lives were all better when he was around. It becomes clear that both Brody and Jessica (Morena Baccarin) are unhappy.

Tunnel Vision: Carrie goes back with a small team down in the tunnels after Nazir. Carrie and one of the FBI field agents get separated from the rest of the team. They find a little hideout where Nazir has been sleeping, so he is definitely there. And by there we mean right behind them! Nazir kills the agent then goes after Carrie. This pretty much gave us a heart attack. Right before Nazir is about to take her out, the other field agents swarm in so Nazir runs. They catch up to him where he is kneeling and praying, then kill him.

Revelations: Now that Abu Nazir is dead, Brody can finally take his family home, but he doesn't go inside with them. Jessica says she is tired of fighting, even if it's for something. This entire scene gave us goose bumps. For once Jessica and Brody are having an honest conversation. Brody acknowledges there was nothing she could have done, and that their family was screwed the second he went to Iraq. He is about to confess to Jessica the whole truth (you know, that he's kind of a terrorist), but she says she doesn't want to hear it now. She asks if Carrie knows the whole truth and Brody says she does. She realizes how much Brody loves Carrie. For once they both just look relieved. Brody drives over to Carrie's house and as he goes inside the episode ends with Peter waiting out front. We all know what that means.
