Wreck It Ralph, Jane Lynch

Jane Lynch is going into combat.

No, she hasn't enlisted in our armed forces.

The Glee star voices Sergeant Calhoun in Wreck-It Ralph, the upcoming animated flick about a video-game villain (John C. Reilly) who tries to turn his life around by becoming a hero in the arcade he lives in.

Calhoun heads up an "explosive military" video game. "Ralph is from a game from the '80s, so he's heavily pixelated and not modern at all," Lynch explains. "He wants to prove himself a hero so he comes into our game and probably gets more than he bargained for."

The cast also includes Sarah Silverman, Jack McBrayer, Mindy Kaling, Ed O'Neill and Dennis Haysbert.

"Kids are going to love it, because they love these games but they also get to see the games that their parents played and how back in the Stone Age we were," she said with a laugh.

Lynch also joked that she aspires to be a general next.

"I had such a good time watching the storyboard evolve and watching the character evolve visually, seeing where she started from and who she became," she said. "She got kind of sexier."

And without missing a beat, Lynch cracked, "I'm sure they got their inspiration from my own body."

Wreck-It Ralph is in theaters Nov. 2.
