It's safer to be among the walking dead than the driving drunk.

Scott Wilson, who plays boozing farmer turned reluctant wanderer Hershel Greene on The Walking Dead, was arrested last week on suspicion of DUI in Peachtree City, Ga.

According to the Atlanta Journal-Constitution, the 70-year-old actor told the cops who pulled him over for speeding at 2 a.m. on Aug. 18 that he had imbibed scotch and wine at the Founders Restaurant & Bar in nearby Senoia, where the third season of the hit AMC series is currently shooting.

The arresting officer wrote in his report that Wilson was going 70 miles per hour, or "well above the posted speed limit," in a black PT Cruiser that also "swerved back and forth" several times.

Wilson complained to police that the road was "slanted" and that he wanted to do yoga.

Per the report, the veteran thesp, whose film credits include In Cold Blood, In the Heat of the Night and Dead Man Walking, blew a 0.143 at the scene (the legal limit is 0.08) and then a 0.151 while being booked into Fayette County jail.

The third season of The Walking Dead premieres Oct. 14.
