Work understandably is the last thing on Ridley Scott's mind right now.

The Prometheus director has temporarily halted production on his latest film in London following the shocking suicide of his younger brother, helmer Tony Scott, which has left Hollywood reeling.

Per The Hollywood Reporter, Ridley got the news while on the set of The Counselor, a drug trafficking drama starring Javier Bardem, Brad Pitt, Cameron Diaz, Penélope Cruz and Michael Fassbender.

Scott immediately suspended shooting for the week and boarded a flight to Los Angeles so he could be with the family in the wake of the tragedy.

The younger Scott jumped off the Vincent Thomas Bridge spanning L.A. Harbor in San Pedro, Calif., yesterday afternoon.  His body was recovered a few hours later. He was 68. Scott's autopsy is scheduled for today and ABC News has quoted a source as saying he had inoperable brain cancer.

The Scott brothers have been a major creative force in Tinseltown the last two decades, producing a multitude of projects for the big screen and small through their production company, Scott Free.

A rep for the Scott family told E! News today: "The family asks for privacy at this time."
