Katie Holmes is headed back to Broadway.

In her first acting role since the breakup of her marriage to Tom Cruise, the 33-year-old actress has signed on for a role in Theresa's Rebeck's new play Dead Accounts, which is set to open this fall. (This seems to confirm earlier reports that production of her independent film Molly has been postponed.)

This will be Holmes' first return to the Great White Way since her 2008 run in All My Sons.

And while the Dawson's Creek alum is going to have her hands full with this new role, her daughter Suri is embarking on her own adventure, too. E! News has learned that the adorable 6-year-old will attend Manhattan's Convent of the Secret Heart school beginning this fall.

Our inner Joey Potter is so inspired by all these changes!
