If you thought Alec's possible mayoral run was the weirdest news coming Baldwin Land, think again.

Bro Daniel has just trumped that. After filing for the double whammy of a divorce and a restraining against his missus, Joanne Baldwin, claming he was "fearful" that she "would slit my throat," the two have decided to patch things up.

And, presumably hide the knives...

The Clackamas County Court, where the dual petitions were filed, confirms that the requests were rescinded last week.

"We have a lot of work to do in our marriage and a lot of healing to do. I don't know what the end result will be," Joanne told The Oregonian.

Despite putting the brakes on their permanent split, Joanne is still living separately from Daniel and they have joint custody of their daughters, 3-year-old Avis and 1-year-old Finley.

Daniel filed for divorce in July, a day after he filed a restraining order against her and had her removed from the Oregon house where the coupled lived with their two children.

Daniel, who married Joanne in 2007, said he had decided to end their marriage for the safety of the children in light of her struggling with booze and drug addictions.

"My hopes and prayers are with Joanne that she may recover from her recent problems and reclaim her role in our children's lives," he said at the time.

"I have had my share of problems with drugs and alcohol many years ago and know first hand how difficult a position she is in. With the help of God and a program of action she too will be victorious."

In his court filing, the Homicide: Life on the Street star claimed Joanne had threatened him repeatedly. "My wife has claimed over 10 times in the last two months that she will stab me, slash me or slit my throat in my sleep," Daniel wrote. "I am truly fearful for my life."

After the filings, Joanne was jailed on a 10-day sentence for violating probation on a DUI.

Now, she says she's taking it one day at a time.

As she tells The Oregonian, "I'm trying my best to keep my head above water."
