Cate Blanchett is preparing to celebrate her 18th wedding anniversary with husband Andrew Upton, her partner in two senses of the word.
The Oscar-winning Australian Lord of the Rings and The Hobbit actress and the playwright, screenwriter and producer wed in December 1997 and are parents to three sons and a baby daughter, who they adopted earlier this year.
Blanchett and Upton also work together. They own the production company Dirty Films. Upton wrote and directed its first project, a short film titled Bangers, which stars Blanchett. The two are also co-artistic directors and co-CEOs of the Sydney Theatre Company (STC).
"It's been a great creative partnership with my husband and also a great love affair," Blanchett told E! News. "Working together, running a creative company in Australia. It's been fantastic."
Blanchett made her comments on Tuesday at the Museum of Modern Art Film's eighth annual Film Benefit, which honored her for her outstanding contributions to the movie industry. The actress can be seen next in the '50s-era romantic drama Carol alongside Rooney Mara and Kyle Chandler. The movie is set for release on Friday.
Blanchett had also talked about her husband on The Ellen DeGeneres Show in October, saying they had gotten engaged after dating for less than a month.
