Christopher Lloyd recreates his infamous character

It might be Back to the Future Day, but not all is as Doc Brown predicted.

In honor of Oct. 21, 2015, Christopher Lloyd recreated his legendary character and released a new video in which he gives viewers a special message. "Great Scott!" Lloyd says in a new clip. "If my calculations are correct, it is now, precisely, Oct. 21, 2015. The future has finally arrived."

He admits that he and Marty McFly didn't get it totally correct—sorry, Chicago Cubs—but that doesn't mean we should be upset about it. "Yes, it is different than we all thought," he acknowledges, "but don't worry—it just means your future hasn't been written yet. No one's has. Your future is whatever you make it—so make it a good one."

The cast, including Michael J. Fox and Lea Thompson, appeared on the Today show Wednesday morning to honor the anniversary of the special holiday, AKA the date McFly travels to in Back to the Future Part II, and gushed about their onscreen dynamic.

"I just felt we had chemistry from the instant we walked on the set. We were so happy to see each other," Lloyd said of working alongside Fox. "It never had to be manufactured…it just was there. It was innate. It was wonderful."

For a trilogy that almost didn't see the light of day, it certainly has withstood the test of time! Three decades later, the cast members still get famous lines screamed at them whenever they're spotted in public, especially, "Marty McFly, you Irish bug!"

"Here we are 30 years later," added Lloyd. "It doesn't seem to have lost momentum."

McFly and the good Doc might have incorrectly predicted the World Series, but they did get a couple of things right such as video calls and drones. Unfortunately, we're still working to master the art of the hoverboard.

Today also marks the release of Back to the Future 30th Anniversary Trilogy on Blu-ray™ and DVD, as well as Back to the Future: The Complete Adventures, a new set on Blu-ray™ and DVD that combines all three movies and the complete animated series for the first time, along with a new bonus disc and a 64-page book in collectible light-up "Flux Capacitor" packaging.

Tune-in to the Esquire Network to celebrate Marty McFly's trip to the future with a binge worthy marathon of the Back to the Future trilogy today starting at 12 p.m. ET/PT.
