Looks like someone is very happy to endorse Hillary Clinton for president—Pharrell Williams

While appearing on The Ellen DeGeneres Show Monday, the 42-year-old "Freedom" singer declared it's time for another Clinton to inhabit the White House.

"It's time for a woman to be in there," Williams said of the potential history-making 2016 election. "Women think about things in a holistic way, it's not just so individual."

Still, he cautions that he has no problem with members of his own gender.

"I'm happy to be a man, but I love women. The thing is, if we had somebody looking after our country that thought about things as a whole, I just feel like it just would be different."

Currently, there are only two female presidential candidates that have officially declared their run for office—Democratic Clinton and opponent, Republican contender Carly Fiorina

A judge on NBC's The Voice, Williams knows how to remain diplomatic in a sticky situation. He was careful to note that while he is excited for the possibility of a woman in the Oval Office, he is happy with the man that currently works in it.

"Not that I don't love our current president, I just feel like it's Hillary time," he added. "One of the greatest things is this is the land of opportunity."

In fact, that's a sentiment President Barack Obama echoed in a recent segment of 60 Minutesadding that a continuous line of new presidents is integral to the success of democracy.

One of the major benefits to Clinton, in Williams' opinion, is her unwavering focus on the serious issues at hand in a sea of wannabe political celebrities.

"One of the things I feel like we can work on is we are so easily sensationalized. People are like, ‘Okay, we need a president that we can play Scrabble and Celebrity with,' but that's not who's gonna solve your problems," he told Ellen DeGeneres, who was in agreement. "You need someone that's gonna take it serious."

So, we guess it's safe to assume Williams won't be voting for Kanye West in 2020. Bummer.
