Tiger Woods Becomes First Golfer to Hit a Ball From Europe to Asia—See the Pic!

Stunt took place on Istanbul's famed Bosphorus Bridge, which links the two continents

Tiger Woods, once again, has swung his way into the record books.

The 37-year-old golfer became the first person to drive a ball from Europe into Asia by way of the Bosphorus Bridge in Istanbul on Tuesday, Nov. 5.

Standing on a large makeshift tee, Woods successfully managed—despite some occasional strong crosswinds—to launch several little white spheres across the suspension bridge that links the two continents.

The unique stunt was designed to draw attention to the Turkish Open that starts on Thursday. Woods will be the only non-European golfer to be competing.

"To be the first golfer to do this was very cool," Woods said afterwards, ESPN reports.

Meanwhile, Woods' girlfriend Lindsey Vonn appeared on Katie Couric's daytime talk show on Tuesday to talk about her man.

"He's funny," the Olympic skier said. "He's really laid-back. He's a great guy. He's always making jokes. Very competitive, just like me."

She added, "We have very similar personalities. But yeah, if there's on thing I could say...He's funny. He's goofy, like dorky-goofy."
