Come on, who doesn't love a pair of huge patterned clown pants?

We never thought we'd see quite so many circus pants concentrated into a single year of fashion, but by now we can pretty much make it official: 2012 was the Year of Big Top Clown Trousers.

From Brandy's vaguely pirate-like pantaloons to Bar Rafaeli's jungle trou, from Kristen Stewart's crazy Balenciaga bottoms to her other crazy Balenciaga bottoms, pants were loud and proud this year. And, judging from the courtside pajama party that Jay-Z and Beyoncé threw the other day, they still are.
