On Saturday, the 2-year-old got to experience her very first parade—the 63rd annual Piedmont Natural Gas Nashville Christmas Parade—and in the best way; sitting on a colorful, sparkling float beside her famous mom, who served as the Grand Marshal.
Clarkson posted on her Instagram page Saturday morning a photo of the two at the parade. The little girl looked adorable in a fuzzy white bear-ear-shaped winter hat and a festive red outfit with white and green accents.
"River's first parade!! #GrandeMarshall #NashvilleChristmasParade," Clarkson wrote.
And the little girl stole the show.

The theme of the parade is The Musical Mile. Proceeds from the event will benefit the Monroe Carrell Jr. Children's Hospital at Vanderbilt and Piedmont's Share the Warmth Program, which helps low-income families pay their energy bills.
"We are also excited that Kelly Clarkson will serve as the parade's grand marshal," the hospital had said in a statement in August. "She is a great friend to Children's Hospital and a true champion for child health."
It's been quite an exciting week for Clarkson and her family. They recently visited the White House, where they marveled at the elaborate Christmas tree and other decorations.
"So this happened yesterday at the White House with my little girl #RiverRose I can't handle it," Clarkson tweeted, alongside a photo of her little girl kissing her in front of the tree. "It was her idea. She's getting a pony."
The family got to meet President Barack Obama and First Lady Michelle Obama.
"They all met POTUS & FLOTUS. Seth had a full on conversation with POTUS and he's still on cloud nine #CanWeKeepObama," Clarkson posted on Instagram.
A day earlier, Clarkson had perfromed at the 94th annual National Christmas Tree Lighting Ceremony on the Ellipse in President's Park.
River is Clarkson's eldest child. The singer also shares 7-month-old son Remington Alexander Blackstock, aka Remy, with husband Brandon Blackstock and is also a stepmother to his son Seth and daughter Savannah from a previous marriage.
Clarkson included in her Instagram post a photo of River, Remy and Seth playing in their hotel room in Washington, D.C.
