"There are rules," Negan informs us ominously in the latest trailer for The Walking Dead season seven. "You earn what you take. You should know this is the only way," he threatens in the clip, which gives us the first look at what life will be like under his rule.
We know that a tragically gory death awaits at least one of the TWD characters we've grown to love, and now, in this preview, we can see how things will go after the anticipated moment.
"Whatever you had going for you, that's over. The thing is, I am everywhere," he says.
TWD executive producer Gale Anne Hurd recently told E! News that she thinks Negan is the ultimate villain. "He's been the ultimate villain in the comic book, and I think Jeffrey Dean Morgan is bringing him to life the way that I imagined because he is larger than life, he is charismatic, and he really enjoys what he does. He doesn't seem to have much of a conscience about it, and that's the kind of person we haven't seen before," she revealed. "Everyone else had a justification that they were reasoning as to why they did what they did, some of the evil things. They always had an excuse. Well, Negan rules."
She added, "it's Negan's world now and we're all living in it." Doesn't sound too promising for Rick Grimes and co.'s chances of making it out alive.
