Gael Garcia Bernal may have been as surprised by his win for Best TV Actor in a Comedy as we are.

After his Amazon series Mozart in the Jungle's unexpected win for Best TV Comedy Series at the 2016 Golden Globes, Bernal scored an upset win in his own category, besting the favored Jeffrey Tambor (Transparent), as well as Aziz Ansari (Master of None), Rob Lowe (The Grinder), and Patrick Stewart (Blunt Talk).

"Thank you so much for everything. Thank you to the Hollywood Foreign Press," he began his acceptance speech, visibly thrilled over his win. "This is incredible, this is really a big surprise."

He closed out his speech with a dedication to his cast, along with some lovely words about music and his children. "I want to dedicate this to music, to all the people that find in music, common ground for communication, for justice, for happiness and to Lazaro and Libertad who are the music I hear every morning," he concluded. "Thank you."

Bernal's series was inspired by Mozart in the Jungle: Sex, Drugs, and Classical Music, a 2005 memoir written by oboist Blair Tindall.

The second season of Mozart in the Jungle was made available to stream on Amazon Video in December 2015.
