The "Cool for the Summer" artist, whose album Confident is due out Oct. 16, posted an Instagram today in honor of her grandpa, asking her fans to keep her grandmother in their prayers during this hard time.
"My heart is absolutely broken and I can't even begin to imagine a world without my Papa but I know one day we'll meet again and that's what keeps me going," wrote the pop-rocker. "I hate writing this... But RIP Papa... I miss you so much already. I love you. Please keep my Mimaw in your prayers."
Demi of course received a rush of support from her fans, who reminded her to "stay strong" and offered their best wishes to her and her family.
"Demi, I will absolutely keep you and your family in my prayers," wrote fan kkcurnock in the comments section on her post. "Letting go is so hard, but picture him on the other side of the door waiting for you to walk through. Where he is there is no more suffering, no more tears."
