You Can Now Find Out How You Rate as an Uber Passenger

Here's a step-by-step guide to finding out how high you rate according to your Uber drivers

Attention Uber users and/or those desperate for the approval of strangers: now you can easily find out how you rate as an Uber passenger.

The folks at Mashable have discovered that inside the Uber app there is a feature that lets you get your passenger rating based on the feedback from your Uber drivers. We've known for quite a while now that drivers are rating passengers and that people with low ratings (lookin' at you, dude who peed in the backseat of his Uber ride), will probably not get a pickup. Especially if they've been rated as dangerous or aggressive.

"After each trip, riders and drivers given the opportunity to rate one another based on their trip experience," says the Uber app. "The rating system works to make sure that the most respectful riders and drivers are using Uber. Ratings are always reported as averages, and neither riders nor drivers will see the individual rating left for a particular trip."

So while you can't see your individual rating from each of your past drivers (that's kept private) you can get your average rating on a scale of 1 to 5. Here's how to do it:

1. Open your Uber app and go to your profile drop down on the top left
2. Select "Help"
3. Select "Account"
4. Near the bottom of the list is an option that says "I'd like to know my rating"
5. Select "Submit" on the next screen
6. Your rating will go to the email address that's linked to your account

Before this feature, you had to email the company to get your rating. Now you'll know if your belligerent backseat speeches about how Joey should have been with Dawson instead of Pacey were seen as adorable drunken shenanigans or borderline abuse.

And if your rating is on the lower side of the scale, Uber has some tips on how to get better ratings from drivers. Basically, be ready, be on time and don't be an a--hole.
