Have you ever had the crazy thought of what it'd be like to walk down the red carpet – at the Emmy Awards, in the dress of your dreams, all glammed up in Los Angeles, soaking up the sun...
For one lucky lady – and super talented student of The Fashion Retail Academy in London – Chereena, life seems to be mirroring just that!
After using her fashion skills to virtually design a stunning red carpet-ready gown using E!'s Dress to Impress app, Chereena's work was picked as the winner by a panel of judges, including London-based fashion blogger, Prince Cassius; E!'s Managing Director, Nicky Douglas; and the CEO of Ariella, Achilleas Constantinou, who regularly breezes celebrities into best dressed lists.
In fact, let's just say we'll probably be seeing many of Chereena's masterworks donning the red carpet in the near future. Once her design made its way to the über talented seamstress and designer at Ariella HQ.
The end result was quite the extraordinary – an elegant, simple and stunning rich red gown, which, of course, fitted our talented winner like a glove (seriously, have a look at the pictures!).
Inspired by Kim Kardashian's "sophisticated" and "classy" style (we hear you, girl), the 19-year-old fashion student used her obsession with necklines while creating the virtual dress. "I did some research looking at past red carpet dresses and at the colours…I'm kind of a random person, I was looking around my living room and set my eyes on the curtains and the way it was draped and thought hey! I like that", she told E! Entertainment.
"When I found out I won, I thought ‘no way, this is a lie, a small Hackney girl, no way', literally those words. I read it five times…when I realised it was real I cried for two hours because I couldn't believe it."
As for the most perfect moment of it all? The very second Chereena and her dazzling dress finally hit the red carpet, of course! Looking drop dead gorgeous with crowds of glitzy celebs and paparazzi teams surrounding her, "This is a dream come true. Everyone looks amazing", she spoke of the surreal moment – which she totally championed.
Looks like dreams really do come true!
